DOMINION — The Hawks Dream Field Society has announced a new honorary chair.

In a news release, the society, which is comprised of local residents looking to improve the Dominion ball field, said that Chester Borden has been named as the new honorary chair.

The announcement took place during the society's annual general meeting on Sunday at the Royal Canadian Legion branch 78.

Born and raised in Whitney Pier, Borden is the current executive director of the Boys and Girls Club of Cape Breton in Whitney Pier and spends his free time coaching many different youth teams in baseball and football.

He said he is honoured to be chairperson for the society.

“I truly enjoy working with youth and giving back to a community that has given so much to me,” he said.

Lisa McNeil-Campbell, chairperson of the Hawks Dream Field Society, called Borden "the definition of what true community spirit and dedication is all about."

“We are truly grateful to have Chester as the honorary chairperson for the Hawks Dream Field Society," she said in a news release. "He embodies all that our society and our project strives to achieve and will be a wonderful ambassador as we continue on this amazing journey to build

the first 100 per cent accessible, multi-sport, all-inclusive outdoor sports facility for Cape Breton."
