HORNE, Faith Elaine (Oakley)

It is with much sadness that we, the family of our special loved one, daughter, wife, mom, nanny, aunt and friend, Faith Elaine (Oakley) Horne, of Ken Tom Lane, Mira, announce her passing on Wednesday, July 21, 2021, in the palliative care unit at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, after a short illness, with her family, who she loved dearly, by her side. Born October 24, 1956, in Sydney, she was the daughter of Walter and Jean (Dicks) Oakley. Besides her parents, Faith is survived by her husband, Albert Horne; daughter, Robin (Charles) Beaver; sons, Michael, Kendall (Jocelyn) and Doyle (Tara); grandchildren, Conor, Caitlyn, Zachary, Chloe, Alexis and Silas; sister, Valerie (Alex) Maclennan; brothers, Vernon (Florence) Oakley and Eddie (Cathy) Oakley; many loved nieces and nephews;

mother-in-law, Helen Horne; sister-in-law, Judy (Freddie) Harte; and brothers-in-law, Danny (Brenda) Horne, Donald Wayne Horne and Jimmy (Kim) Horne. She is also survived by her Mira Road buddies, Susan Swartz, Kathy Hardy, Mary Macdonald and Brenda Hussey. Faith worked at Riverview High School and later at Riverside Elementary, where she made many friends. Her garden was something in which she took great pride, as well as

the many quilts she made for her family and grandchildren. Faith also enjoyed playing tarabish and tole painting. Her special turkey dinner made for every occasion and family gatherings will be missed. Visitation for family and friends will take

place at Sydney Memorial Chapel on Saturday, July 24, 2021 from 2-4 p.m. A graveside service will be held at Riverside Cemetery, Hornes Road on Sunday, July 25 at 2
