DOLHANTY, Reginald Thomas

Florence

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Reginald Thomas Dolhanty, 83, on Monday, May 3 2021. Born in Florence on August 4, 1937, he was the son of the late Steve and Margaret Dolhanty. It takes a great man to be the husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather that he was. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Rosalie (Gouthro), his 6 children, Joanne, Regina, Pauline (Eric), Stephen (Judy), Joey and Vernon. He was a proud grandfather to Michael, Steve, Mark, Derrick ,Joey, Patrick, Suzanne, and Christopher (that he loved to carry on with) and 10 greatgrandchildren that he truly adored. Reggie is also survived by his brother, Frank (Esther) Dolhanty and sisterin-law Yvonne Dolhanty. Besides his parents, Reggie was predeceased by brothers, Stevie and Brian, and sisters, Rosalind & Dorothy (in infancy). Reggie was a longtime member of St. Stephen’s Church and Holy Family Church, where he served on the altar for many years. Reggie was involved with Miner’s Memorial service in Florence as well as a UMW representative. Reggie retired from Devco at the age of 55 and took swimming lessons at the Northside Community Pool, where he made many friends and spent many of his summers at Groves Point Beach swimming. Reggie also enjoyed skating, watching hockey (go- Habs -go). He will be dearly missed by family and many friends. Many thanks to Northside General Hospital Staff for their compassion and care. Cremation has taken place. Due to COVID restrictions, funeral services will be held at a later date. Words of comfort may be forwarded to his family at www.jmjobesfuneralhome.com.
