Sara-Lynne Knockwood ~ Taekwondo

Knockwood, who is from Sipekne’katik First Nation, is a three-time gold medallist at the North American Indigenous Games, having won two gold in 2002 in Winnipeg and one in 2006 in Denver. Also in 2002, she won Pan American gold and the open world championship in Miami in the under-16 lightweight division. In 2016, Knockwood became the first Indigenous woman to be inducted into the Mi’kmaq Sports Hall of Fame.
