Cape Breton Lynx keep Fundy Kraken at bay in 2-1 win

MEMBERTOU — Avah Landry had a goal and an assist as the Cape Breton Lynx beat the Fundy Kraken 2-1 in Maritime Major Female Hockey League action on Saturday at the Membertou Sport and Wellness Centre. Jeneva Marshall had the only goal of the first period to give the Lynx a 1-0 lead heading into the locker room. Landry scored the eventual game-winner just two minutes into the second period. Bria Ricketson had the lone Kraken goal. Meghan Muise stopped 14 of 15 shots for the win while Morgan Redmond was kept busy in the Kraken net, turning aside 25 of 27 pucks sent her way. The Lynx and Kraken were set to play again Sunday at the Membertou Sport and Wellness Centre.
