People invited to view film and learn more about the Bahá’i community

The Bahá'i community invites the public to view a film titled Glimpses of a Hundred Years of Endeavour, which will be shown at the Yarmouth Library on Saturday May 14 at 1 p.m.

Bahá'i communities the world over are holding conferences focused on the teachings of Bahá'u'lláh (Glory of

God) the prophet-founder of the Bahá'i Faith.

The Bahá'i and those labouring alongside them are constantly building a society that consciously pursues the collective purpose of bringing about world unity. It means transcending differences and recognizing that the welfare of individuals rests in the welfare of society at large; and it means that everyone in every community is a potential partner. “Today more than ever, we need a world vision that is focused on peace, not war; equality, not disparity; and ways and means of protecting our environment and the health of the planet,” says Sandra Phinney, a member of the Bahá'i community. She adds, “Bahá'u'lláh has given us what I believe is a spiritual blueprint for the health, wellness and prosperity for the entire world. And, of course, our work begins right here at home.”

Following the film, refreshments will be served and everyone will be invited to share their views and to consider how cooperation and mutual assistance can be fostered.
