My mask protects you, your mask protects me: The problem with allowing people to mask or not mask, as they see fit, is that it is totally contrary to what the authorities have preached all along.

The mask primarily protects the other person. Therefore, the person who is cautious and thus the most unlikely to be contagious is the one most likely to wear a mask.
