Berwick man charged with child pornography offences

Police have charged a Berwick man with possessing and transmitting child pornography.

In a recent news release, RCMP said between January and April, investigators were able to download a significant amount of child pornography from someone sharing images and videos online.

On May 3, Mounties executed a search warrant at a home in Berwick in connection with the investigation.

Matthew Leadbeater, 45, was arrested at the home, police said.

Leadbeater is charged with two counts of possession of child pornography and one count of transmitting child pornography. He was released from custody on conditions and is scheduled to appear in Kentville provincial court on June 21.
