Multiple ATV accidents reported during weekend
Nova Scotia RCMP officers are urging people to put safety first when enjoying the sunny spring weather.
In a news release, RCMP officers from across Nova Scotia reported they responded to multiple off-road vehicle complaints on May 7, including several collisions that resulted in injuries.
At 1:58 p.m., Kings District
RCMP responded to a 911 call of a single-vehicle collision involving a sideby-side. The female passenger was transported to hospital via LifeFlight with serious injuries. The male driver was transported to Halifax via ambulance.
At 3:36 p.m., Annapolis District RCMP responded to a single-vehicle collision involving a dirt bike. The driver was transported to hospital by EHS with nonlife-threatening injuries.
At 4:04 p.m., East Hants District RCMP responded to a 911 call of a single-vehicle collision involving an allterrain vehicle (ATV). Due to the location of the collision, the driver was transported from the scene by the Kennetcook Fire Department in order to meet with
EHS paramedics. The extent of the driver’s injuries were not immediately known.
At 5:10 p.m., Colchester County District RCMP responded to a 911 call of a single-vehicle collision involving an ATV. The driver and passenger were both assessed by EHS for what was believed to be minor injuries.
