The Pine Ridge Panthers junior girls’ softball team hosted and won districts on May 23 in Aylesford. The Panthers played their rivals, the Northeast Kings Education Centre Titans, in their first game. Pine Ridge won 4-1 in a defensive battle. The Panthers then played West Hants knowing that a win would send them to regionals and secure the district title. The bats got going early and often as the Panthers won 15-0, capturing their second straight district title. Pine Ridge will host the regional championship June 5 in Aylesford. Pine Ridge will represent the Kings/Hants district and play against the winner of the Annapolis/Digby, Shelburne/Yarmouth and the Liverpool/Queens districts.
