TIMELINE

A look at how a report on a regional recreation facility in Kings County came to be.

• Spring 2021 – The towns of Wolfville and Kentville as well as the County of Kings agreed to proceed with a feasibility study for a regional recreation complex.

• Summer 2021 – A request for proposals for a consultant was released and a working group formed.

• Fall 2021 – Sierra Planning and Management from Toronto and partners (Perkins & Will, CBCL Limited and Hanscomb Limited) were awarded the contract.

• Late 2021 – Consultation and research begins.

• Summer 2022 – Draft report received by working group. • Fall 2022 – Full draft report, including site information, presented in-camera to the three municipal councils. • November 2022 – Three partners agreed to proceed with further investigation, consultation and discussions. • March 2023 – Presentation to joint council session to receive public version of feasibility study with location information removed.
