NO RESPECT

It being Remembrance Day, I assumed that the company doing some insulation work on our old house had made a mistake when they said they'd have a team here on Nov. 11. When they showed up, I professed my surprise, because “it’s a statutory holiday.”

Not in Nova Scotia. Shame on you, Premier Houston. All Canadians, all Nova Scotians, should be granted the time to remember the sacrifices of our veterans, or for that matter civilians who have died in wars and armed conflicts the world over.

Make it a statutory holiday next year, Mr. Premier.
