No one injured in house fire

The Kingston and District Fire Department, Kings District RCMP and EHS paramedics responded to a report of a structure fire on Ward Road in Greenwood Square at around 2 a.m. on

May 10. When officials arrived on scene, they found a home fully engulfed in flames. Kingston and District Fire Department Chief Watson Armstrong said the fire started in a vehicle and spread to an outbuilding and the home. The home’s three occupants made it out of the house without injury. Canadian Red Cross officials were helping the home’s occupants.

Three goats, a chicken, two dogs, a cat and a rabbit were not hurt. The vehicle, outbuilding and home were destroyed by the fire. Firefighters from the Berwick, Aylesford, Lawrencetown,

Middleton and Nictaux departments also responded. Firefighters were on scene until about 6:30 a.m. The investigation into the cause of the fire is ongoing.
