Griffins victorious in Pictou County

The Horton Griffins Division 1 boys basketball team won the Anse MacDonald basketball tournament in New Glasgow during the weekend.

The Griffins defeated the Cobequid Cougars 98-64 and the C.P. Allen Cheetahs 89-67, avenging a loss a week before at the Griffins’ tourney. Horton then defeated the Millwood Knights 113-65 in the championship final.

Braeden MacVicar was named the tournament MVP while Aidan Clarke made the all-star team.

Nate Johnson and Lawson Penny each earned player of the game awards.
