Heidi MacLean still looks on the bright side of things depsite facing mounting medical bills.

The Wilmot resident is used to being active and independent. But lately, she’s been spending her time in and out of hospitals, sleeping in a specialized lift chair, waiting for the day the medical treatments cease and her life goes back to normal.

“I’m not used to feeling this way. I’m used to feeling healthy and full of energy,” said MacLean.

“I’m used to riding my horse and taking my dogs on hikes. I’m an active person so sitting in this chair is just about driving me nuts,” the 31-year-old added. “But I have no choice because I have to let my arm heal and my body heal.”
