Plenty of icebergs in the sea

Plenty of icebergs have made their way to the coast of Newfoundland and southern Labrador in recent weeks, and as the weather warms up, more people are heading to the coast with their cameras to capture a glimpse.

Sightseers from Red Bay to Triton to St. John’s have marked ’bergs on the provincial government’s Iceberg Finder map, with quite a cluster around the Twillingate area.

The annual tide of iceberg photos from tourists, tourism companies and locals is once again flowing into social media.

Photographer Alick Tsui has been sharing snaps of the first sizable ’berg to make it to the capital this year. He said he was following it around St. John’s this week. That iceberg is moving on, but according to the map, Tsui and other local photographers will have a lot of material to work with this season.
